He leads the development of the WITCH integrated assessment model, a well-known framework to design and evaluate decarbonization pathways under real-world constraints, including energy security, technology deployment, macroeconomic trade-offs, and climate impacts. He contributed to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report and is involved in various EU-funded research projects. Laurent holds a PhD in Economics and Social Sciences and a background in applied mathematics, and has worked across research institutions in Europe. He is an Editor at Global Environmental Change and has co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed articles, including publications in Nature Climate Change, Nature Energy, and The Lancet Planetary Health.
