Júlia Seixas is a professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology of NOVA University Lisbon, where she teaches in the field of Energy and Climate. Since 2021, she has served NOVA University as pro-rector for sustainability.
She coorinated the Energy & Climate group at CENSE research center (2008-2021) and the Climate-KIC Hub Portugal as well (2016-2021), where she led educational, innovation, and climate leadership programs, impacting more than 400 students and professionals. Her scientific interests include the climate transition, prospective integrated assessment methods for sustainable futures, and climate action policies, topics of many scientific publications. She is the chair of SDSN Portugal, the national network of the UN SDSN, which brings together approximately 2000 members worldwide from universities, research centers, and civil society organizations to build solutions for communities to accelerate the SDGs. She is a member of the advisory board of Fidelidade’s Impact Center for Climate Change and of the National Council for the Environment and Sustainable Development as well. Since September 2024, she coordinates the PhD in Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies, a joint program from NOVA University of Lisbon and University of Lisbon since 2009.
