Rodrigo Oliveira

Rodrigo Proença de Oliveira is a civil engineer from Instituto Superior Técnico with a MSc and PhD degrees in Water Resources Management and Planning from Cornell University, USA.

He is an Associate Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, a researcher at CERIS (Civil Engineering Research and Innovation for Sustainability) and tconsultant and managing partner at Bluefocus. He has been working in the field of hydrology and water resources management for over 35 years. His teaching and research activities cover hydrology, water resources management and planning, with a special interest in climate change. He is also active in private consulting in many countries, namely in Africa, South America, and Europe. He is a regular consultant to the Portuguese Environment Agency on water management and climate change policy. He was member of the board of the Portuguese Association of Water Resources and its president for two years. Currently, he is the secretary general of the Tagus River Basin Council. He is, also, a member of the Portuguese Scientific Committee for the National Adaptation Strategy.
